Female Ambassador of Reading Culture with the aspiration to spread knowledge to the visually impaired
Ngo Huyen Trang is an excellent candidate who won the first prize in the Nghe An Province Reading Culture Ambassador contest and the national contest in 2024. This petite and pretty female student is eager to carry out the mission of spreading reading culture in the community, especially for the visually impaired.
Ngo Huyen Trang (born 2007) is currently a student in class 12D1, Ha Huy Tap High School (Vinh City). Since childhood, Huyen Trang has been passionate about reading books, especially since middle school, reading books has become a daily need for her.

I often choose to read literary works, books about history and stories about Uncle Ho, thereby helping to broaden my knowledge, have a pure soul, be full of love and have a deep insight into characters and events.
Huyen Trang shared: “For me, books are great friends on the journey of discovering human knowledge. When I have free time, I often spend it reading books. When I read books, I am really happy and receive many new and interesting things.”

Huyen Trang knows about the contestAmbassador of Reading CultureA few years ago, I was very passionate about books but due to my shy nature, I did not participate. In 2024, thanks to the encouragement of my parents and teachers, I was really confident and decided to participate in the contest.
Coming to the contest, Huyen Trang introduced the book “The Dien Bien Soldier Tells Stories” which was first published by Kim Dong Publishing House in early 2014. The book includes 21 stories recorded through the narration of Meritorious Teacher Do Ca Son - a soldier who participated in the campaign, directly fought at Hill A1 and expressed in the writing style of journalist Kieu Mai Son.

Reading this book, Huyen Trang saw more clearly the indomitable and resilient fighting spirit of the soldiers on the Dien Bien Phu battlefield. It was a story about the people who sacrificed themselves, the story of Tet on the battlefield, the work of digging trenches, the tears, the story of meals and his compassion and forgiveness.Uncle Ho's soldiersfor defeated French prisoners of war…
“The memoir “A Dien Bien Soldier Tells a Story” by teacher Do Ca Son reminds young people of their responsibility to society, with their great contributions to building and developing their country. Writing more and more about the stories of soldiers fighting for the Fatherland in general and Dien Bien Phu in particular, is always a moving and deeply inspiring experience in my heart,” Huyen Trang confided.

As the Reading Culture Ambassador of Nghe An province and the whole country, Ngo Huyen Trang always wants to bring the light of knowledge to everywhere and everyone and has had initiatives and taken action to implement the plan to develop reading culture.
Currently, I have learned about books for the blind such as audiobooks and braille books. At the same time, I have built a fan page for audiobooks called “Friends of Light”, with the meaning that books are always companions of each person throughout life’s journey, and for the blind who spend their lives in the dark, they will find “the eternal light of human intelligence”.

The beneficiaries of my plan are people who are visually impaired due to congenital causes or some unfortunate accidents, and cannot read books and recognize letters with their own eyes.
Next, Huyen Trang will choose books about national history, books about blind people with strong will to live, about necessary knowledge to equip in life. Then she will record the books with an emotional voice and post them on the fanpage, every week she will post at least two books with stories about will to live and love of books.
I hope the fanpage will spread widely so that the visually impaired not only in the city, in the country but also all those with eye disabilities can access the treasure trove of human knowledge. Young people who are not fortunate enough to be born with eye problems, but have a desire to learn and acquire knowledge, will have the opportunity to reach their dreams…”.
