At around 8am on December 30, 2016, at a coffee shop on Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, Ward 7 (Bac Lieu City), Le Thi Ly, who called herself Truc Linh, saw Mr. Hinh Van D., 50 years old, wearing a lot of gold and jewelry, and tried to get acquainted. After that, the two exchanged phone numbers and parted ways. At around 12pm on the same day, Mr. D. received a phone call from Ly asking her to take him to visit Nha Mat Tourist Area and Nam Hai Buddha because she did not know the way. Mr. D. accepted.

Ly confided that she was divorced, bored, and traveling to relax and start her life over. Having a passion for new things, Mr. D. took Ly to a motel in Ward 5 (Bac Lieu City) to confide. The next morning, Mr. D. woke up, did not see Ly, and the entire necklace, bracelet, and necklace weighing 17 taels of gold on her body was gone, so he immediately reported it to the local police.

As a result, Mr. Ben was robbed of 1 24K gold bar and many other assets by Ly while he was in a coma.

On March 9, 2016, in Vinh Hoa Hung Nam commune (Go Quao, Kien Giang), Ly, who claimed to be Nha Linh, approached, drank, confided in, and drugged a man to rob him of a 5.5-tael 24k gold bracelet. In addition to the above cases, the Bac Lieu Police Department also said that in recent days, many men in Ca Mau, Tra Vinh, Soc Trang... came to report being poisoned with anesthetics to rob their property.

According to the investigation agency, Le Thi Ly was born and raised in Hamlet 3, Khanh An Commune (U Minh District, Ca Mau) in a large farming family. Ly fell in love early and had 2 children, but her love life was troubled.
