The subjects Lo A Phong, Lo A Tru, Lo A Tang and Giang A Chung used Sung A Vau's phone to invite 9th grade female student Giang Thi Ly to go out, but in reality, it was to take her to China to sell.

Mu Cang Chai District Police (Yen Bai) are coordinating with local police to arrest two masterminds in a child trafficking ring, Lo A Chong and Giang A Chang (both residing in Mu Cang Chai district).

The case originated from the disappearance of a 9th grade student, Giang Thi Ly (15 years old), on a day in mid-April 2017. Suspecting that his daughter had been tricked into being sold to China, her biological father, Mr. Giang A Tru (residing in Lao Chai commune, Mu Cang Chai district) went to the Lao Chai commune police to report.

While Phu Tho Provincial Police were verifying the case, on April 17, the victim returned to Vietnam via Lao Cai International Border Gate. As soon as the information was received, the General Investigation Team coordinated with the Commune Police to meet and visit the victim.

Two subjects Lo A Phong and Lo A Lau.

The 9th grade girl could not hide her panic, recounting the incident in tears. After being taken to China, the subjects handed Ly over to two strange men. These two people used a car to take her to a house deep inland in China, where there was a woman around 40 years old... Ly knew that she had been tricked and sold by the group in Mu Cang Chai, so she proactively asked these people about the price to buy her. One of the two subjects told Ly that they had to pay 170 million VND to own Ly.

While pretending to sleep, Ly heard the subjects say that they would take her about 500km inland so that she would not know the way back. At that time, Ly was extremely scared but she tried to stay calm. Ly asked to go out to wash her face and then escaped. She walked like that for 3 days and 3 nights, until April 14 when she met a strange couple.

Knowing Ly's situation, the couple took the child home, fed him, and reported the incident to the Chinese police. On April 16, the Chinese police handed Ly over to the Lao Cai International Border Guard Station. On the same day, after receiving information from Lao Cai Provincial Border Guard, Ly's family came to pick up their child and reported the incident to the local authorities.

During the investigation, Ly said that she was tricked by Lo A Phong and some other people to take her to China to be sold. Based on the victim's testimony, Mu Cang Chai District Police summoned Lo A Phong (18 years old, residing in Lao Chai Commune). Using professional measures, Phong was forced to confess to his crime. The subject admitted that on April 10, he, along with Sung A Vau, Lo A Lau, Lo A Tang, Giang A Chang and another subject, tricked Ly into going out, then took her to China to be sold.

By the time Mu Cang Chai District Police stepped in, these suspects had all fled. Along with the investigation, they tracked down the suspects' escape routes. On April 20, Mu Cang Chai District Police arrested Lo A Lau, Lo A Tang and Sung A Vau while they were hiding in the border area between Son La and Lai Chau provinces.

The investigation determined: On April 10, Giang A Chang and Lo A Tang went to Lo A Phong's rented room to play. Afterwards, Lo A Lau and Sung A Vau were also present. While hanging out there, Giang A Chang asked the subjects if they knew women to trick them into selling them in China. Hearing that, Sung A Vau said he had Giang Thi Ly's phone number. Therefore, Lo A Phong, Lo A Tru, Lo A Tang and Giang A Chung used Sung A Vau's phone to invite Ly to go out, but in reality, it was to take them to China to sell them...

Due to lack of motorbikes, Sung A Vau stayed at home while the other subjects took the victim Ly to China. On the way, the group met Lo A Chong (also residing in Lao Chai commune) and invited Chong to join in tricking Ly into selling her. According to the statements of the arrested subjects, they sold the victim Ly for 40 million VND.
