Female flight attendant kidnapped by customer and sold as wife
While taking a nap, Thuy was kidnapped at knifepoint by two karaoke customers and sold to China to be forced into marriage.
On the last night of August, Ms. Vuong Thi Ngoan (58 years old, residing in Quynh Luu district, Nghe An) was startled when she received a call at midnight informing her that "her daughter had been kidnapped and sold to China for many months and needed the police to rescue her...".
After a half-hearted phone call, she quickly reported to Nghe An Provincial Police. Accordingly, in mid-January, her daughter, Pham Thi Thuy (21 years old), went to Quang Ninh to make a living. After a few days, she lost contact with her daughter and became desperate when searching for her.
Police determined that the phone call at midnight in August came from Hai Phong, the subscriber was a girl named Lan.
Working with the authorities, Lan said she was also a victim of human trafficking and was rescued by Chinese police. During her time at the police station, Lan met Thuy. On the day she left to return to Vietnam, Lan was given a piece of paper with her phone number scribbled on it by Thuy, asking her to inform her relatives.
In September, Chinese police handed Thuy over to Vietnamese authorities. The girl burst into tears the moment she was reunited with her family.
Thuy said that when she arrived in Quang Ninh, she applied for a job at a karaoke bar. Less than 10 days after arriving there, one day while taking a nap, Thuy was suddenly held at knifepoint by two men who were customers of the bar. They forced Thuy and a female employee into a waiting car and took them to Mong Cai (Quang Ninh). Both were "escorted" to China and then went their separate ways.
Thuy was then forced to become a wife and during the days of being "confined" in her husband's house, she always had the intention of running away. One day, Thuy escaped from the house and lived a vagrant life until she was arrested by the police because she had no identification papers.
