On August 17, Tran Van Thoi District Police (Ca Mau) said that the unit is temporarily detaining TVL (40 years old, residing in Kinh Hang A Hamlet, Khanh Hung Commune, Tran Van Thoi District) to investigate the act of electrocuting a woman, causing injury.
Earlier that day at 0:00 a.m., Ms. PTH (living in Kinh Hang A hamlet) was sleeping at home. Awakened by a strange noise, Ms. H was shocked to discover TVL (about 10 meters away from Ms. H's house), standing near her bed.
When Mrs. H shouted “thief, thief!”, TVL climbed onto the bed, grabbed a piece of wood with an electric wire and shocked her, injuring the victim. Afterwards, TVL fled the scene.
Ms. H reported the incident to the local police. According to the report of Tran Van Thoi District Police, the wall of Ms. H's house showed signs of being cut. At the scene, the authorities discovered an electric wire running from TVL's house to Ms. H's house.
Through initial investigation, TVL admitted to pulling an electric wire from his house to electrocute Ms. H.
Currently, the authorities are investigating and clarifying the motive of the subject TVL.
