(Baonghean) - For a long time, Thanh Chuong people have known how to exploit natural advantages to raise chickens, bringing high economic value. In order to improve quality, the district has implemented a model of raising chickens in the direction of biological safety, creating products that ensure food hygiene and safety standards and help minimize the risk of environmental pollution...

Thanh Duong is one of the communes selected by the district to pilot the biosafety chicken farming model. In fact, thanks to the application of science and technology in livestock farming, the economic efficiency is very high. Mr. Nguyen Si Huyen, in hamlet 1, said that when participating in the model, his family was supported by the district with nearly 500 hybrid sugarcane chickens and 30% of the cost of feed and veterinary medicine. After 4 months of raising, the chickens were sold, and his family alone sold nearly 1 ton of chicken, deducting expenses, the net profit was from 25 to 30 million VND.

According to Mr. Huyen, raising chickens in a biosafety manner requires the application of science and technology. From the experience and knowledge he learned when participating in training courses organized by the district, he invested in building a solid barn system, ensuring coolness in the summer and warmth in the winter. The barn floor must be high, well-drained, and the feeders and drinkers must be disinfected before use. Around the garden area, he bought B40 steel mesh to create a large enough space for the chickens to forage during the day. The food provided for the chickens is bran, rice, corn... During the day, the chickens should be fed many times, each time spreading a little to ensure the food is always fresh and delicious. Currently, Mr. Huyen's family still keeps nearly 20 chickens for breeding.

Raising safe biological chickens at Mr. Tran Dinh Thuan's family (Dong Van commune - Thanh Chuong).

For Mr. Tran Dinh Thuan's family in Tien Kieu hamlet, Dong Van commune, although this is the first time they have raised bio-safe chickens, when asked about the economic efficiency, he was excited: "My family was supported with 600 hybrid sugarcane chickens. Thanks to technical guidance on raising chickens, the chickens grew and developed well, weighing from 1.5 - 2 kg/chicken. Recently, selling them at a price of 90 - 100,000 VND/kg also brought in a net profit of nearly 30 million VND. Raising chickens in this way is both simple and reduces environmental pollution. In the future, my family will continue to raise them in larger quantities...".

Mr. Nguyen Ba Quy, Vice Chairman of the Gardening Association of Thanh Chuong district, said that the biosafety chicken farming model was piloted in 5 communes: Thanh Tien, Thanh Linh, Dong Van, Thanh Giang, Thanh Duong. Accordingly, each commune will have 5 households selected to participate in the model, supported with breeds, food, and veterinary medicine. These households must ensure the requirements for livestock barns, have large garden and hill land areas, and have experience. The purpose of implementing the model is to develop livestock farming in a safe and sustainable direction, gradually building the Thanh Chuong chicken brand. Before implementing, the district organized for officials of the communes to visit and learn from the experience of raising chickens in Bac Giang. In practice, the model has generally brought high efficiency to local breeders, while creating products that ensure food hygiene and safety standards while helping to reduce environmental pollution. The district will continue to direct the expansion to all localities in the coming time...
