Clean shrimp farming achieves high yield
(Baonghean.vn) - In Hoang Mai Town (Nghe An), there are more than 480 hectares of shrimp farming with a total output of nearly 1,100 tons, the average yield is nearly 4 tons/ha, many households reach 5-7 tons/ha. This is a successful shrimp farming season for shrimp farming households in the past 2-3 years.

Shrimp are raised in concentrated areas in Quynh Loc, Quynh Di, Quynh Lien, Quynh Xuan and Mai Hung. This year, with favorable weather conditions and technical guidance from agricultural extension officers, shrimp farmers have applied science and technology in the shrimp farming process from processing to selecting breeds, disease prevention and care, especially the application of clean technology to limit the use of chemicals and antibiotics in disease prevention and control, ensuring healthy shrimp development for high productivity and output.
Quynh Di Ward, Hoang Mai Town (Nghe An) has 33 shrimp farming households with a total area of over 86 hectares. The first shrimp crop of the year has high productivity and output, many households earn billions of dong in profit. Mr. Tran Phuc Son's family - Dong Trieu Block, Quynh Di Ward, Hoang Mai Town has an area of 1 hectare of shrimp pond, including more than 7,000 m2 of water surface area. This year's first crop has favorable weather conditions, in addition, his family raises and cares properly from pond treatment, seed selection, and feed, all ensuring compliance with VietGap procedures.

He also applies microbiological technology to shrimp farming such as using herbs and garlic to prevent diseases for shrimp. At the same time, he adds vitamins to increase resistance to help shrimp stay healthy and grow quickly. Therefore, his family's shrimp pond develops well, is disease-free, has high productivity and output, after 110 days of age with 50-55 shrimp/kg, the total output reaches nearly 10 tons. With the current shrimp price of 120-130 thousand/kg, his family earns nearly 1.2 billion VND, minus expenses, making a profit of nearly 500 million VND.
Raising shrimp using microbiological technology to produce clean products is a sustainable direction in Hoang Mai town and the coastal area of Nghe An. Currently, people are actively treating ponds and preparing for the second crop of shrimp.
