Cars are heavily discounted during the Ghost Month: A golden opportunity for car buyers
Many car models from Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi, and Ford continue to reduce prices and offer great incentives during the Ghost Month. This is an opportunity for buyers to save tens of millions of dong.
The seventh lunar month is always considered a difficult time to sell cars in Vietnam due to the fear of shopping. To stimulate demand, major companies such as Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi and Ford have simultaneously launched incentives.
Not only maintaining the policy from last month, many car models also have increased support levels, helping customers significantly reduce rolling costs.
Honda maintains great deals
In September 2025, Honda continues to apply the same policy as last month.
Civic e:HEV RS is the most prominent model with a 100% reduction in registration fees, applicable to vehicles manufactured in 2024.
The Civic G and RS versions also have a 50% fee discount, helping the actual price drop to around 749.5 to 844.5 million VND.
In addition to Civic, the BR-V, HR-V G and CR-V lines are also on the list of registration fee support.
The City sedan and Civic hybrid VIN 2024 lines are reduced by up to 57 million VND, bringing the actual price to only 449 to 512 million VND, but still higher than the competitor Toyota Vios.
Toyota launches series of attractive promotions
This month, Toyota Vietnam increased incentives for 5 car models, including Vios, which has its registration fee increased from 50% to 100%. After the reduction, the car price is only from 412 to 491 million VND, equivalent to the A-class urban car segment.
Veloz Cross and Avanza Premio are also fully supported with registration fees, while Yaris Cross and Corolla Cross are applied at 50%.
Some models also come with a body insurance package, helping customers save more money. However, not all cars can be converted into cash incentives, but can be accessories or gifts.
Mitsubishi focuses on Triton and Xpander
Triton continues to be the flagship model with 100% registration fee support, equivalent to 40 to 56 million VND. After the discount, the actual selling price is only 615 to 868 million VND, with an additional gift worth 10 million VND.
The domestically assembled manual Xpander is supported with 50% of the fee, bringing the price down to 532 million VND. Meanwhile, the two automatic versions imported from Indonesia have their incentives increased to 100%, directly reducing 60 to 66 million VND.
The Xpander Cross, Attrage and Xforce models also have flexible incentives from 50% to 100%, with the Xforce GLX having all registration fees reduced, bringing the price to 539 million VND.
Ford enters the race with a series of new policies
Not missing out on the “game”, Ford is offering many incentives for Ranger, Everest and Transit. Ranger Sport and Wildtrak versions are exempted from all registration fees, while Ranger Raptor and XLS are supported by 50%.
Everest also participates with many versions receiving incentives in the form of valuable gifts, from 10 to 37 million VND. Specifically, Everest Titanium 4x4 is given 2 years of physical insurance and a dash cam, with a total value of up to 37 million VND.
Ambient, Sport and Titanium 4x2 versions are given a premium heat-insulating film package worth 10 million VND.
Golden time for car buyers
The Ghost Month often makes many customers hesitate, but this period opens up the opportunity to buy a car at a significantly lower cost.
With a series of great incentives from many brands, consumers who are willing to overcome spiritual factors will easily own a new car at an attractive price. This can be considered a rare time of year to shop economically.
