In his speech, Mr. Joe Biden criticized the leadership of President Donald Trump's administration in dealing with the Covid-19 epidemic, which has caused the US to lead the world in the number of infections and deaths, the US economy to decline, millions of people have to register for unemployment benefits and lose insurance while many businesses have to close. Mr. Biden also criticized President Trump for not protecting the US and its people.
Mr. Biden also called on the people to unite to overcome the dark moment of America: “Too much anger, too much fear, too much division. Here and now, I promise that if you trust me as president, I will draw on the best of us, not the worst. I will be an ally of light, not darkness. It is time for our people to unite to overcome this dark moment in America. I am proud to be a member of the Democratic Party and I am proud to represent the Democratic Party in the general election. With pride and humility, I accept the nomination for President of the United States.”
Mr. Biden said that his first steps as president are to prioritize controlling the Covid-19 epidemic. Mr. Biden also mentioned his plan, roughly translated as “Build Back Better,” to rebuild the economy and bring a better life to the American people.
