Mr. Joe Biden, who is considered by the US media to be the new US President, on November 23 announced a list of several key positions for his new cabinet.
In a tweet on November 23, Mr. Biden said Alejandro Mayoircas, a former Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security, would be appointed to lead the Department. Avril Haines, who served as Deputy National Security Advisor to former President Barack Obama, was appointed as Director of National Intelligence.
Former Secretary of State John Kerry has been named as the President's special envoy for climate change, a position on the White House National Security Council. Biden is also expected to name his longtime foreign policy adviser Antony Blinken as Secretary of State, while another longtime aide, Jake Sullivan, has been chosen as National Security Advisor.

Biden is also considering Michele Flournoy as the first female US Secretary of Defense. In addition, Linda Greenfield Thomas, a veteran diplomat, has been nominated to the position of US Ambassador to the United Nations. In addition, Biden is also considering appointing former Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen as US Treasury Secretary.
