Father receives much sympathy with poem about parent-teacher meeting
After the first semester summary meeting, a father in Hanoi suddenly became famous with the poem "Confessions of a father at the first parent-teacher meeting".
"Seasonparent meeting” is happening. Amongst not a fewparentsWhile bragging about his child's good academic results, getting excellent grades, or complaining about his child's unsatisfactory grades last semester, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thau (Hanoi) is very calm when his daughter only gets a "Pass" grade.
Not only that, he was willing to "show off" this to the world by... writing a poem and posting it on Facebook.
The short, simple poems "report" the mood of a father when he heard the study results of his daughter Mit.
From the feeling of waiting for his child's name to appear on the list of "Excellent" students, but then "Good" was not there, and finally he heard his child's name on the list of "Passed".
"Mom wasn't happy" but "dad was comfortable" - Mr. Thau said about the contrasting emotions of the couple when hearing their child's results.
However, the father is still happy when he sees his child "smile", his child "show off his picture", or his child is always "happy and healthy"...

As a university lecturer, Mr. Thau believes that nowadays, grades are not so important anymore. “Read a lot, my child/ That’s all I need!” - Mr. Thau “concluded” his message.
"Students today need many other things, must know many other things to be able to do their jobs. For now, for my child, in daily life, what I need most is for him to be happy, healthy, love reading books and love people."
Mr. Thau also shared that although this poem is dedicated to his child, "I think it is more appropriate to write this poem for his parents."
"Parents should reduce pressure on grades, so that both children and parents are happy"...
Mr. Thau's post on Facebook received sympathy from many parents.
Ms. Le Trang (Ba Dinh district, Hanoi) has 2 children in grade 6 and grade 4. The older child is an excellent student, but the second child is only a fair student.
She said, "Every parent wants their child to be good", but she is not upset about her child's results, nor does she compare her child with her older sister.
“I know my child’s academic ability, so during the school year I don’t put pressure on him. My only requirement is that he complete all the homework assigned by the teacher. In addition, I let him take extra English classes - a necessary subject and also a subject he likes. I don’t want my child to be afraid of studying,” Trang shared.
Mr. Pham Thanh Phong (District 3, Ho Chi Minh City) shared that when he saw his child struggling too much in the first days of first grade, he and his wife agreed to let him study comfortably, because "anyway, sooner or later, he will know how to read and write".
"My husband and I also talked to the homeroom teacher that if my child writes slowly or poorly, she should not criticize or compare him with his friends. Our biggest goal is that every day, my child happily goes to class and is not afraid of going to school," said Mr. Phong.
Poem "Confessions of a father at his first parent-teacher meeting" by Nguyen Xuan Thau:
Dad went to a meeting today.
First term summary
The head teacher called out the name.
"Excellent" students
The child's name is not mentioned.
Dad thought, "That's fine!"
But I read all the names.
Still no sign
Turns out I belong to the category
Just "Passed" in class
Mother and child are not happy
But dad is comfortable
When dad picks up his daughter
Still showing dad the picture
Still telling the story
"That friend I hate the most,
Chase the child to fall to the ground
But it was fun to play."
Dad just sees you smile
Zero points, nine points
Purple lettering
Neat and cute
I read too many stories.
Also know more blocks
Mom often reminds
"All day just stories!"
Math is often wrong
Because of carelessness
"Our family is poor" - the child said
So I don't study more.
Mom has to pick me up again.
So don't learn to dance.
Dad knows you miss him.
Familiar melodies
What graceful movements
Long time no practice!
Dad went to a meeting today.
Seeing you so carefree
So dad doesn't even dream.
Just wish you happy and healthy
Read more, son.
That's all I need!
