Father climbed out of 7th floor apartment window to save his son
Thinking there was a thief in the house, the boy escaped to the balcony and got stuck outside, forcing his father to risk his life to rescue him.

According toThe Paper, a boy trapped outside a high-rise building in Foshan city, Guangdong province, was rescued by his father on August 15.
The 7-year-old boy was home alone when the incident occurred. Thinking there was a burglar in the house, he climbed out of the window and stood on the metal frame that covered the air conditioning units in the downstairs apartment. His feet were on the narrow ledge while his hands were holding on to the metal bar.

Worried that his son could fall at any moment, the boy's father began a "dramatic" rescue that was filmed by witnesses.
Using the metal bars protecting the air conditioner as a ladder, the father climbed down to where his son was trapped. At that moment, rescue workers also arrived at the scene and tied a rope to the boy's body. The rescue workers pulled the boy up while the father cautiously held the child.

About a minute later, the boy was pulled to safety. Rescuers also rescued the boy's father shortly after.
The boy's mother, surnamed Huang, saidPeople's DailyShe knew she had left her son home alone because she had to take her daughter to school. The boy woke up and heard a noise in the living room and thought there was a burglar.
On the way back,HuangShe didn't see her son in the room. She almost fainted when she found him standing on the ledge outside the apartment.

Huang immediately called emergency services and called her husband. Huang's husband rushed home from work within 10 minutes. Without waiting for rescue, he tried to save his son himself.
His actions were praised by netizens, but according to rescuers, family members should not risk their lives and climb out without any protection in similar situations.

Local police have not yet announced whether they have found any evidence of the illegal home invasion as the boy claimed.
