Trump calls Kim Jong-un a “great negotiator”

"More importantly, I have a very good relationship (with Mr. Kim Jong-un), we work very well together. He is a smart guy, a great negotiator. He sees a bright future for North Korea," - the US President said while speaking in Las Vegas.

According to Mr. Trump, before he was elected President, the situation was like "America was going to start a war with North Korea, a war that could take 50 million lives."

“I think we have made great progress. And this happened much faster than anyone predicted,” he noted.

Earlier, Mr. Trump said that he believed the North Korean leader. The US State Department said that dialogue with North Korea is still continuing.

The first summit between the United States and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, where Mr. Trump and Kim Jong-un met, took place on June 12 in Singapore.
