Trump raises issue of US troops in South Korea before US-North Korea summit
US President Donald Trump said on February 22 that reducing US troops in South Korea is not on the table at the upcoming summit in Hanoi.
The second meeting between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump will focus on increasing pressure on North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons.

Senior officials of the Trump administration have previously said that the two sides will not discuss the withdrawal of US troops from South Korea, but will instead focus on finding common ground on denuclearization. Accordingly, freezing all of North Korea's weapons of mass destruction and missile programs is always the top priority in bilateral negotiations.
Shuttle visits between the two sides are being made ahead of the US-North Korea Summit in Vietnam on February 27 and 28. US National Security Advisor John Bolton is in South Korea to consult with local officials ahead of the meeting./.
