US President Donald Trump extended the national emergency for another year, citing concerns about harmful threats from Russia.

According to RIA Novosti, US President Donald Trump has extended the state of emergency in the country for another year, citing Russia's harmful foreign policy actions, according to a document signed by the head of state.

The document is expected to be released on April 14.
Former US President Joe Biden declared a national emergency under Executive Order 14024 on April 15, 2021, which also froze Russian assets and imposed sanctions on Moscow.
The activities attributed to the Russian government include efforts to undermine democratic elections in the United States and other countries, cyber operations, and influence operations against foreign governments, which continue to pose "an unusual and unusual threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States."
"For this reason, the national emergency declared in Executive Order 14024 must be in effect after April 15, 2025. Accordingly, pursuant to Section 202(d) of the National Emergencies Act, I will extend the national emergency for one additional year," President Donald Trump said in a decision signed by the head of state.
After Russia's special operation in Ukraine began, Western countries increased sanctions pressure on Moscow. However, all this mainly led to an increase in electricity, fuel and food prices in Europe and the United States.
Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that the restrictions have dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy. According to him, the main goal of the United States and its allies is to make the lives of millions of people worse. At the same time, the Russian president stressed that it is impossible to undermine the financial stability of Russia and Europe itself has reached a dead end.
