"Russia and potentially other countries could have intervened," Mr Spicer said in response to a pertinent question.
Earlier today on Twitter Donald Trump demanded an apology from those who are accusing him of links to Moscow.
"The fact that President Obama did nothing after he was briefed on Russian interference in August. After four months of looking at Russia under a magnifying glass, they have not one shred of evidence that Trump's people conspired with Russia. They should apologize!", the US president wrote.
