Mr. Xuan Anh was absent from the activities of the Da Nang People's Council.

At the People's Council meeting with voters this morning, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh, Chairman of the People's Council of Da Nang City was not present.

The program is run by Mr. Nguyen Nho Trung, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Da Nang City.

This is the second time Da Nang has organized a People's Council program with voters. The first time it was held on June 6, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh, then Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council, chaired it.

This program was organized by the City to innovate the form of contacting voters before the session and to strengthen the monitoring activities between the two sessions of the City People's Council. More than 30 comments from voters were collected and transferred to the functional units for response and handling.

Responding at a recent press conference, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Huynh Duc Tho said: Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh is an official under the management of the Politburo and the Party Central Committee. We have also received information about the recent disciplinary case. Currently, comrade Xuan Anh is also a People's Council delegate and Chairman of the People's Council of Da Nang City.

Responding to the press yesterday, Mr. Nguyen Nho Trung said that he is in charge of running the Da Nang People's Council because Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh asked for a temporary leave to handle family matters.

Previously, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh was disciplined by the Party Central Committee and removed from the position of Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee. He also ceased to hold the position of Secretary of the Da Nang Military Party Committee.

The last important position he held was Chairman of the City People's Council.

He was elected Chairman of the City People's Council in June 2016, replacing Mr. Tran Tho.
