The Prime Minister has just approved the Project "Ensuring proper nutrition and increasing physical activity for children, pupils and students to improve health, prevent cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma in the period 2018 - 2025".
The Project's objective is to improve understanding of proper nutrition and appropriate physical activity for education managers, teachers, staff, children, pupils, students and parents to prevent non-communicable diseases; implement proper nutrition and increase appropriate physical activity for children, pupils and students.
The project strives to improve the knowledge and capacity of education managers, teachers, staff, children, pupils and parents on proper nutrition and increased physical activity to improve health and prevent non-communicable diseases.
100% of pupils and students are informed about preventing the harmful effects of tobacco; at least 80% of high school pupils and 100% of students are informed about preventing the harmful effects of alcohol.
100% of school health workers are trained and educated in proper nutrition, principles of diet development, physical activity enhancement, and prevention of non-communicable diseases.
100% of staff working in collective kitchens in educational and vocational training facilities are trained and provided with knowledge about proper nutrition and food safety and hygiene.
The project strives to increase the rate of proper nutrition practices for children, pupils and students. In particular, strives for at least 90% of educational and vocational training institutions that organize boarding meals to provide meals at school for children, pupils and students to meet nutritional needs according to regulations. 100% of preschool and general education institutions organize monitoring and assessment of the nutritional status of children and students according to regulations. 100% of educational and vocational training institutions with school canteens ensure food hygiene and safety conditions; do not sell foods and drinks that do not ensure nutrition, are of unknown origin, and are not beneficial to the health of children, pupils and students.
The project aims for 100% of educational and vocational training institutions to fully implement regulations on physical activities for children, pupils and students through formal and extracurricular activities, striving for each pupil and student to achieve at least 60 minutes of physical activity per day as recommended by the World Health Organization. 100% of educational and vocational training institutions organize communication activities on the benefits of increasing physical activities for children, pupils and students.
To achieve the above objectives, the Project proposes a number of key solutions such as: Completing policy mechanisms on school nutrition and physical activities in schools; promoting communication on nutrition and physical activities in schools; strengthening management of school nutrition and physical education in educational institutions; mobilizing resources and promoting socialization of work to ensure nutrition and physical activities for children, pupils, and students...
