Phan Van Duc and teammates complete medical quarantine, ready for new goals
(Baonghean.vn) - Today (June 30), the members of the Vietnam National Team completed both phases of medical quarantine, after finishing the 2nd qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup in Asia in the UAE and returning home.
After completing the mission and returning home, D.Vietnam teamwere quarantined for 7 days at a hotel in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. According to the regulations of the Ministry of Health, all members of the Vietnam Team must have an RT-PCR test every 2 days.
After completing the 7-day centralized medical quarantine period, with the approval of the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (HCDC), the team members agreed to choose the hotel where they are currently in centralized medical quarantine as the place to quarantine at their place of residence for the next 7 days. Before completing the 7-day centralized medical quarantine period, the team members had one more RT-PCR test. All tests were negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

In the second qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup, the team had an impressive journey with 5 wins, 2 draws and only 1 loss out of 8 matches in Group G, winning a ticket to continue as a team in the top 5 second-placed teams with the best results. This is the first time in history that the Vietnamese team has participated in a round that brings together the 12 best teams in Asia, competing for 4 or 5 places to attend the 2022 FIFA World Cup Finals. This will bring a great opportunity for Vietnamese players to compete to expand their level against the top teams in the continent.

As planned, the draw ceremony for the third qualifying roundWorld Cup 2022The Asian region will take place at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow (July 1) Vietnam time. Due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, this event is organized online by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), with the participation of head coaches of the teams that have qualified for the 3rd Qualifying Round.

The 12 teams are divided into 6 seed groups, each group has 2 teams competing in 2 different groups. According to the seeding, Vietnam is in group 6 with Lebanon. Group 1 includes Japan and Iran. Group 2 includes Australia and South Korea; Saudi Arabia and UAE are in group 3; Iraq and China are in group 4; Oman and Syria are in group 5.
The teams will compete in a double round-robin to determine their rankings in each group. The top four teams in each group will advance directly to the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar, while the two third-placed teams will compete in a play-off against representatives from another continent.
The matches of the 3rd Qualifying Round are scheduled to take place on the following dates: September 2, 2021, September 7, 2021, October 7, 2021, October 12, 2021, November 11, 2021, November 16, 2021, January 27, 2022, February 1, 2022, March 24, 2022 and March 29, 2022.
