Buddhists in the volunteer group shared: The group drove through the provinces, stopping to give gifts wherever the water was isolated. The water was deep, making transportation very difficult, but the volunteers tried their best to support the people in the flooded areas as quickly and promptly as possible.
On the morning of September 12, Long Hoa Pagoda, Ong Pagoda, Phuc Thanh (Hung Nguyen), Duc Hau (Vinh City), Vinh Phuc (Nam Dan) sent trucks carrying relief goods, bringing a lot of food, necessities to give to people affected by storms and floods in Yen Bai province.

This afternoon, September 12, the Nghe An Buddhist volunteer group with 3 trucks of goods arrived at Tran Yen district, Yen Bai province. The group then moved to Co Phuc town and 2 other localities to give gifts to the people affected by floods there.
According to monk Thich Nguyen Tam - abbot of Ong pagoda (Hung Nguyen) who is present in Co Phuc town, the group planned to send trucks to transport goods to the flooded areas, but it was very difficult. Although the floodwaters had receded, some areas were still muddy and cars could not reach the places. Some locations had to be taken by boat, so the goods had to be unloaded in the town center. People in the flooded areas were very enthusiastic in supporting Buddhists in loading and unloading and giving away charity goods.
Master Thich Nguyen Tam shared: Today, the delegation went to give gifts to people in 3 locations and visited a flooded village along the Red River. Everywhere was full of mud, houses were in ruins. When we arrived at the deeply flooded areas, we felt sorry for the people in the flooded areas. There were families with only one elderly person, 70 or 80 years old, living alone in the house, hungry and thirsty for 3-4 days, very pitiful.
It is known that many pagodas in the province are also continuing to call for donations and organize gift giving for people affected by storms and floods. The charity trucks of Nghe An Buddhism will continue to head to the North in the coming days, contributing to joining hands with the whole country, accompanying and sharing with people in the Northern provinces in natural disasters and calamities, spreading the spirit of compassion of Buddhism./.
