A bomb weighing nearly 350kg with an intact detonator was found on Lam River.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 9, the Thanh Chuong District Military Command coordinated with the Engineering Department - Provincial Military Command to successfully salvage and destroy a bomb weighing nearly 350kg discovered on the Lam River.

Previously, at 9:30 a.m. on June 7, a group of people specializing in diving and fishing on Lam River discovered a bomb with an intact detonator in the middle of the river, about 50 meters from Dung Bridge, at a depth of over 10 meters, in Block 2A, Thanh Chuong Town.

After receiving the news, Thanh Chuong District Military Command dispatched forces to guard and protect the scene, warning of danger to people and surrounding boats.
Through inspection, verification and evaluation:The bombwas discovered to be a US-made bomb, about 1.2m long, 40cm in diameter, weighing about 750 pounds (equivalent to 340 kg), with large destructive power and radius.

The authorities have salvaged and transported the explosives to the Khe Tram demolition site, Thanh Thuy commune, Thanh Chuong district for safe destruction.
