During the process of screening the passenger's luggage, the Customs force of the Import Luggage Team (Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch) discovered that the luggage of passenger Nguyen Van Hung (born in 1991, residing in Som Kim 2, Huong Son, Ha Tinh) on Aeroflot flight Su 290 from Russia to Noi Bai (Hanoi) at 8:00 a.m. on February 20, showed suspicious signs.
The unit coordinated with forces from the General Department of Customs and the Department of Police for Crime Prevention and Smuggling to inspect the passenger's luggage and discovered four air guns, including two Edgun Leshi guns, one Ataman AP16 gun and one Colibbry No.1209 gun, along with a number of Czech air gun components and spare parts, and 91 ammunition boxes with tens of thousands of bullets.
At the time of inspection, passenger Nguyen Van Hung could not present legal documents for carrying the above goods, violating Customs laws.
According to an officer of the Anti-Smuggling Crime Police Department, although these guns are air guns, if fired within a range of 50m, they can cause high damage because they are modern automatic revolvers with a stock.
The Customs force has temporarily seized all the illegal exhibits. The case is being investigated and handled by the authorities./.
