Nghe An tourism activities in recent years have had positive changes, the development space has been expanded, not only limited to coastal areas but also increasingly spreading to the Western districts with more diverse types of tourism products, the quality has been significantly improved.

Besides Nghe An's strong products such as: Cultural and historical tourism associated with spirituality, beach resort tourism, recently eco-tourism, conference and seminar tourism, business tourism, community tourism are on the rise...

Promoting cooperation and association in tourism development has attracted large domestic tourism corporations and businesses such as Saigontourist, Vietravel, Vingroup, Muong Thanh... to participate in investing in developing new tourism products, contributing to gradually changing the appearance of Nghe An tourism industry in both scale and quality.

In the coming time, Nghe An will continue to promote the development of key tourism products such as: beach resort tourism, cultural and historical tourism associated with spirituality, eco-tourism associated with the culture of ethnic minorities and rural areas...; prioritize the development of high-quality tourism products, rural agricultural tourism, community tourism. Regarding sea resort tourism, focus on promoting the progress of key projects: Eco-tourism and entertainment complex in Nghi Tien commune (Nghi Loc) of FLC Group, Vinpearl Cua Hoi cable car and entertainment complex phase II, Bai Lu Resort phase II expansion project; Planning to build a park on the east side of Binh Minh street; improving the quality of sea tourism products at the locations: Dien Thanh, Cua Hien, Quynh Phuong, Quynh Nghia on the basis of linking with spiritual cultural tourism of Cuong temple, Con temple, Nguyen Xi temple, Duc Hoang temple, Co Am pagoda and eco-tourism of Xuan Duong lake, Vuc Mau lake, Ve Vung lake.

Regarding cultural tourism, promote the exploitation of intangible cultural values ​​such as folk songs, folk music, folk dances, festivals, craft villages as well as traditional customs and cuisine to create unique and attractive tourism products, focusing on building a number of Vi Giam folk song performance venues to serve tourists in Vinh, Cua Lo, Nam Dan; effectively promote the value of traditional festivals in the area for tourism development, gradually turning Sen Village Festival, Cua Lo Tourism Festival, and Mai King Festival into cultural tourism events with great influence in the region and the country.

Regarding agricultural and rural tourism: Gradually coordinate to build agricultural tourism products associated with high-tech agricultural models, clean agriculture and Sao River lake in Nghia Dan, orange farms (Quy Hop), medicinal rice production and fruit tree planting projects in Ve Vung lake (Yen Thanh), Cau Cau tea island (Thanh Chuong), sheep farm (Dien Chau), seafood processing (Cua Lo)... along with village landscapes and new rural cultural spaces.

Regarding MICE tourism, build Vinh city into a conference and seminar tourism center of the province and the region on the basis of calling for investment in projects of eco-tourism areas along Lam river, entertainment areas, high-class hotels associated with preserving and promoting the value of typical historical relics such as Vinh citadel, Quang Trung temple, Hoang Muoi temple, Hong Son temple, Can Linh pagoda, museums to serve the needs of tourists when coming to Nghe An; continue to expand the exploitation of Vinh riverside tourism routes.

Regarding ecotourism associated with community culture, speed up the progress of projects of Cau Cau mixed tourism, service and resort area, Pha Lai eco-tourism area, Tam Dinh Sang Le forest eco-tourism, Khe Kem waterfall, Sao Va waterfall, 7-storey waterfall..., at the same time promote the development of walking, mountain climbing, river and lake tourism, tourism to learn and experience the culture of ethnic villages in Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, Tan Ky, Quy Chau, Que Phong.

Building unique products with Nghe An brand based on the advantages of natural and cultural tourism resources with outstanding value. In particular, planning and investing in building Kim Lien National Tourist Area into a unique national tourism product with outstanding historical and cultural values, unique and distinctive of Nghe An.

In the immediate future, speed up the construction project of Chung Son Temple and Chung Mountain Cultural and Ecological Tourism Area, and at the same time attract investment in developing spiritual cultural tourism at relics in Nam Dan and neighboring areas such as: King Mai Temple and Tomb, Phan Boi Chau Memorial Area, Dai Tue Pagoda, Truong Bon Historical Relic Area (Do Luong), General Secretary Le Hong Phong Memorial Area and Soviet Martyrs Memorial of Nghe Tinh, Hoang Muoi Temple (Hung Nguyen).
