The film project "Paradise" co-produced by Vietnam and Korea starring Ly Nha Ky and Han Jae Suk - actor of "Glass Shoes" - has been indefinitely suspended due to lack of money.

“Paradise” is a co-production film project between Vietnam and South Korea with a budget of up to 26 billion VND, bringing together a cast including Han Jae Suk, Ly Nha Ky, Lam Vissay, Kim Tuyen, Xuan Nghia... Not long before, the film held a press conference to introduce the crew and began filming in October in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Lat. The project is expected to contribute to promoting domestic cinema as well as opening up a new direction of cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea.

Ms. Hanh Nhan (right cover) at the press conference to launch the film not long ago.

However, some members of the film crew recently unexpectedly shared information that the entire crew had stopped working in the past few days even though the film had been filmed about 70%. The reason given by this person was that Ms. Nguyen Hoang Hanh Nhan - the film's producer showed signs of running out of capital, constantly owing money to the production crew, including actor salaries, hotels, sound and lighting, and other expenses.

It was the delay in paying the expenses that led to the "Paradise" film crew being disbanded 5-7 times. Many staff members, due to lack of personal funds, were forced to leave before completing the film.

Not only with the Vietnamese crew, a studio assistant also said that producer Nguyen Hoang Hanh Nhan treated the Korean crew disrespectfully.

Image shared by a member of the Korean crew shows actor Han Jae Suk having to leave Vietnam before the project was completed.

Specifically, after completing some initial filming, actor Han Jae Suk and his crew had to return home according to the original schedule. However, the hotel where the actor and the Korean members were staying confiscated the passports of the entire crew. The hotel gave the following reasons:“Producer Nguyen Hoang Hanh Nhan owes a hotel in Da Lat nearly 500 million VND.”

After the actor's crew was upset and complained, Ms. Nhan came to negotiate with the hotel. It was not until November 26 that Han Jae Suk was able to leave Vietnam.

The actor previously expressed excitement and curiosity when he learned that Ly Nha Ky would be joining him.

VietNamNet has contactedLy Nha Ky to ask about the incident. The actress confirmed that the information that the producer had financial problems and that the film crew had to stop indefinitely was true. Ly Nha Ky also said that as soon as she knew about the incident, she stopped filming this film because of the lack of financial transparency as well as non-payment of expenses incurred during filming.

I myself was also a victim of heavy losses because in addition to being an actor, I also contributed capital to the film. It was the ambiguity from Ms. Nhan that made the film plan not as we initially imagined.

However, if we were to tell the story specifically and clearly, it would be very difficult because there are many inside details. Currently, my team is completing the paperwork, procedures and evidence... We will send this information to the media as soon as possible," the actress said.

To ensure objectivity, the reporter connected with Ms. Nguyen Hoang Hanh Nhan – the film’s producer. However, when the reporter mentioned the story, she hung up.
