Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected storm prevention No. 10 in Quynh Luu, Hoang Mai
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of September 14, a working delegation of the province led by Mr. Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue inspected the flood and storm prevention situation in Hoang Mai and Quynh Luu.
In Hoang Mai, the delegation inspected storm prevention work at Vuc Mau Lake. The lake has a capacity of 74 million m3water, 5 spillways, 4 rain gauge stations. Due to the large lake basin, by this afternoon, the water volume in the lake had reached nearly 54 million m3. A representative of Hoang Mai Irrigation Enterprise said that the flood spillways are currently operating normally, and the electronic board measuring rainfall diagrams is regularly updated according to regulations.

100% of the military is on duty to prevent storms. As soon as the water level reaches the "threshold", spillways will be discharged according to technical procedures to ensure safety for downstream areas. Before discharge, a wide announcement will be made to the people and localities to have appropriate response solutions.

In Hoang Mai town, the delegation inspected the work of anchoring boats to avoid storms at Lach Con. By 4:00 p.m. this afternoon, 100% of Hoang Mai's 916 boats had safely returned to storm shelters; of which 416 had a capacity of over 90CV operating offshore.
By the morning of September 14, the locality had harvested 434 hectares of Summer-Autumn rice, and other crops had been harvested. The town is focusing on directing people to speed up harvesting the remaining areas. Wards and communes have also prepared plans to evacuate people to safe shelters such as People's Committee headquarters and schools.

Checked in Quynh Luu, the locality with the largest number of boats in the province, nearly 1,200 boats and over 10,000 workers.
As of 5:00 p.m. this afternoon, 44 ships with 404 workers are on their way back to anchor, expected to arrive safely tonight; the remaining 70 ships have anchored in other localities including Quang Binh with 67 ships, Vinh with 1 ship, Nam Dinh with 02 ships. The District People's Committee has instructed the communes to implement the plan to evacuate people on the spot according to the approved plan.
