(Baonghean.vn) - This is the first project on collective economic development with specific characteristics for women to promote the role of women nationwide in collective economic development and job creation for workers.

On the morning of March 17, Comrade Le Minh Kha - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister attended and chaired the Conference to launch the Government's Project No. 01 on "Supporting Cooperatives Managed by Women and Creating Jobs for Female Workers by 2030", launching the Women's Startup Competition in 2023 within the framework of the Government's Project 939 on "Supporting Women's Startups in the 2017-2025 Period". The event was organized by the Vietnam Women's Union.

Therefore, on January 3, 2023, the Prime Minister's approval of the Project "Supporting cooperatives managed by women, creating jobs for female workers by 2030" is extremely important. This is the first project on collective economic development with specific characteristics for women that the Vietnam Women's Union is entrusted by the Government to preside over, coordinate with sectors and levels to implement and is an important basis for promoting the role of women nationwide in implementing the Party and State's policies on collective economic development and job creation for workers in the coming time.

The project aims to develop, consolidate and improve the efficiency of cooperatives managed and operated by women, creating more jobs for female workers; supporting and improving the material and spiritual life of members and workers in cooperatives. Raising awareness of members and women about the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws on collective economic development and cooperatives. Promoting internal strength, the spirit of cooperation and creative entrepreneurship of members and women, contributing to the implementation of socio-economic development goals, international integration and gender equality.

The Project Launch Conference aims to promptly deploy the Project, unify the awareness and responsibility of all levels of the Vietnam Women's Union, ministries, branches, and central and local organizations in implementing the project with the goal of developing, consolidating and improving the efficiency of cooperatives managed and operated by women, creating more jobs for female workers and promoting the internal strength, spirit of cooperation, creative entrepreneurship of members and women, contributing to the implementation of socio-economic development and international integration goals.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai highly appreciated the proactive and methodical work of the Central Women's Union in implementing the project. In the current context, the Deputy Prime Minister pointed out the difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process, therefore, he requested that localities should make efforts and be proactive in the implementation process.

We must always think and think, although the tasks are not new, they must have new vitality, new thinking, focusing on promoting the strength of the community and the whole society. In addition, we need to integrate with other projects, support activities to prioritize the application of science and technology, digital transformation, and the right subjects.

In order for the project to be put into practice soon, the Deputy Prime Minister also requested the Central Women's Union to proactively coordinate with departments and branches to complete the plan to issue and implement the project. At the same time, urgently direct and guide associations at all levels to advise the People's Committees of provinces and cities to suit the characteristics of each locality. Relevant ministries and branches, especially the Ministry of Planning and Investment, need to pay attention to the implementation of the project to gradually eliminate the gender gap, develop policies to support implementation such as taxes, land, vocational training, etc. In addition, ministries need to coordinate with the National Target Program to have a plan to allocate capital, provide timely implementation funding, avoid overlap and be effective.

In the coming time, it is also necessary to review and assess the demand for female human resources to organize vocational training and organize forums to promote gender equality in collective economic models. On the part of the provincial People's Committee, it is necessary to promptly issue a plan, establish a steering committee, pay attention to allocating resources, prioritizing the integration of programs and assigning responsibilities to local departments and branches to create conditions for the project to be effectively implemented. During the implementation process, it is necessary to regularly organize, evaluate, summarize, and draw lessons.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai launched and called for responses to the 2023 Women's Entrepreneurship Competition with the theme "Women starting businesses, promoting local resources".

Through the contest, potential and feasible projects will be selected and supported to be realized, contributing to promoting, establishing, developing and maintaining the operational efficiency of the contestants; discovering typical and positive factors to nurture into typical examples of successful startups to honor and spread in the community; adding to the number of female entrepreneurs in the locality and the country; contributing to promoting gender equality.
