Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam: Arousing the spirit of 'popular education' in cyberspace

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, a country can only be strong when it can arouse aspiration and creativity, improve people's knowledge, and strengthen its scientific and technological potential. Developing a digital Vietnamese knowledge system is an effective way in the era of the 4.0 industrial revolution.
"Let's work together to arouse and spread the spirit of learning, community awareness, and the spirit of "Popular Education" on cyberspace and throughout society to contribute to disseminating and creating knowledge, and raising the level of Vietnamese intelligence," the Deputy Prime Minister called.

Citing the opportunities and challenges that Vietnam is facing in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh said:“Creating, sharing, exploiting and using the Vietnamese Digital Knowledge System extensively in society is a premise to improve the intelligence of all classes of people and the capacity for innovation in all sectors and fields in the context of the 4th Industrial Revolution”.
According to the Minister, in the current context there are many challenges as well as opportunities for development, but to rise up we can only rely on knowledge and creativity. The project is one of the concrete steps.

Major General Nguyen Manh Hung, General Director of Viettel Group said ""Digital Vietnamese Knowledge System"is a system of knowledge for all people, regardless of individual, community or organization, all can participate in building and using it together.
"Sometimes, discovering a problem and asking the right question is more important than the answer. Therefore, those who do not know can also participate in building Vietnamese knowledge by asking a question. That question is the source of Vietnamese knowledge."Mr. Hung said.
Huge open data repository
As a member of the project development team, Phan Duc Dung said:The team is very hard-working and proud to create an open platform. However, the team also realizes that this is only a Beta version and still needs a lot of community contributions to help the product become more and more complete.
Dung said,The structure of "Digital Vietnamese Knowledge System" includes four main components that create a diverse ecosystem developed for the first time in Vietnam. First,The Open Data component gathers information and publicly available data from ministries, branches, localities, state agencies, businesses, organizations and individuals. Second,The Knowledge System component gathers world knowledge translated into Vietnamese and Vietnamese knowledge systematized and structured to facilitate people's learning and research at different levels. Third,Question Bank component, where people ask questions and get reliable answers from multiple sources of information, allowing users to interact with various social networks and forums;
Finally, the Application Store component is developed by businesses and individuals on the basis of the giant data warehouse of the Digital Vietnamese Knowledge System and uses artificial intelligence (AI) and big data tools to create added values to meet the diverse needs of users.
