Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue: The Government wants localities and businesses to contribute ideas

On the afternoon of February 14, in Binh Duong, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue chaired a consultation conference on perfecting institutions and policies on foreign investment in the new context.

Attending the conference were representatives of international organizations, domestic and foreign enterprises, international experts and leaders of localities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Binh Phuoc, Can Tho, Long An, Soc Trang, Dak Nong...

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue said that although the implementation of policies to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) has the same mechanism, some localities have applied it very successfully, such as Binh Duong, but there are also localities that have not been successful.

According to Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, the Vietnamese Government is planning to develop a report assessing 30 years of attracting foreign investment. “The Government really wants to listen to the opinions of local and foreign enterprises, international organizations, and give advice to help the Government improve institutions and policies in attracting FDI,” said Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue.

The Deputy Prime Minister also hopes that delegates and experts will assess the current international context and its impact on current policy mechanisms so that the Government can have the best proposal to submit to competent authorities for consideration.

At the conference, leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee shared experiences in attracting FDI in the service sector. Leaders of the Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee shared experiences in attracting FDI in industry, technology and building smart cities…

On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue also received representatives of Korean and Japanese organizations and businesses on the sidelines of the conference.

The Deputy Prime Minister hopes that Korean and Japanese enterprises will continue to invest in Vietnam, including football.
