(Baonghean.vn) - The issue of school violence posted in the column: "People's Council delegates speak, act and listen" recently has attracted the attention of many managers at all levels and sectors. Nghe An Newspaper continues to publish the opinion of Mr. Nguyen Minh Hanh - Vice Chairman of Do Luong District People's Committee on this issue.

School violence comes from many different causes, and responsibility must also be viewed from many sides. Particularly for Do Luong district, in recent times, it has led and directed the work of protecting and caring for children in general and the work of preventing and combating violence and child abuse in particular, including the work of preventing and combating school violence.

The district has directed the implementation of pilot projects on building child-friendly communes and wards in 3 communes, creating conditions for children to live and study in a safe and friendly environment, and then expanding it throughout the district.

However, the work of preventing and combating violence and child abuse, including school violence, still has many issues that need attention. First of all, the work of propaganda, care and protection of children is not regular, has not aroused and promoted the full role and responsibility of sectors, levels, organizations, families and schools in this work. The team of staff in charge of child work at district and commune levels is not uniform and does not meet the requirements. On the school side, there has not been adequate investment in comprehensive life skills education for children.

In order for the work of preventing and combating violence and child abuse, including school violence, to change more positively, contributing to the formation of good personalities for children, it is necessary to strengthen the leadership, direction and inspection of Party committees; the administration and management of the government; and the coordination between sectors and localities.

Enhance knowledge and skills in collecting and processing information, intervention, counseling and assistance skills for children who are victims of violence for staff working in child protection and care in general and youth and women's organizations, including fathers and mothers...

In particular, it is necessary to pay attention to organizing training classes and life skills activities for adolescents. On the one hand, it is necessary to clearly understand that the work of protecting, caring for and educating children is the responsibility of the whole society, so all levels, sectors, socio-political organizations, schools and each family need to coordinate synchronously to gradually reduce school violence.
