(Baonghean.vn) - The three defendants who committed murder under the age of 18 were all born and raised in unhappy families where their parents divorced. At the trial, many fathers and mothers burst into tears, admitting partial responsibility for not being close to their children.

Heartbreaking when a minor commits murder

The trial of the three defendants Nguyen Dinh Binh A. (17 years old), Dinh Xuan D. (17 years old) and Hoang Duy H. (16 years old), all residing in Vinh City, for the crime of “Murder” took place quite quickly when all three admitted to the crime. However, the motive for the crime of the threeminor defendantsagain made many people shocked. Just because of a small conflict at the game shop, the defendants were ready to bring "hot goods" to rescue their friend even though there was no conflict. The hooliganism of the group of young people under 18 years old made many people, especially parents, think.

Regarding the case, late at night on September 12, 2022, H. and D. were playing a game when they had a conflict with a young man named Nguyen Cong P. and were punched in the face many times. H. immediately texted A. for help, "Come here." Although there was no conflict with the opponent, A. took two sharp knives and dragged a group of friends to the game shop.

While waiting for A.'s group to arrive, D. also quickly found two metal tubes to keep ready. At midnight the next day, when A.'s group arrived at the game shop, A. gave H. a knife and then went into the shop.

Seeing their opponent run away, H. and A. still chased after them. After catching up, H. stabbed P. twice in the back with a knife. Discovering that his friend had been stabbed, Hoang Anh T. ran to stop him but was hit in the head by D. with an iron pipe. D. also hugged T. while H. and A. used knives to attack him repeatedly, stabbing T. multiple times, causing 22% injury.

The investigation agency determined that although the victim did not die, the injuries were life-threatening and would have resulted in death if not treated promptly. Therefore, the 3 defendants were all prosecuted for murder.

At the trial, the three defendants all admitted to the crimes as charged in the indictment. Defendant A. stated that he had no conflict with the victim, but when he heard H. texting for help, he took a weapon to resolve the matter. The defendants expressed remorse, citing youthful rashness as the reason, asking the court to consider and reduce their sentences.

Parents take part of the responsibility

Following that special trial, many people had to ponder when the three defendants were all born and raised in an incomplete family. The parents of the three defendants were divorced. After their parents' broken marriage, the children lived with their father, mother or were raised by their grandparents. Although living in the city, all three dropped out of school early and followed their friends outside. Without close supervision and guidance from their relatives, they gradually fell into depravity and participated in stabbings in the middle of Vinh city.

The defendants' parents, who attended court as guardians, accepted partial responsibility for failing to manage and educate their children in a timely manner.

The mother of defendant D. choked up when speaking in court: “For the above incident to happen, I see that the immediate wrongdoings are the parents, then the child because my husband and I divorced. I was away from my child when he was only 6 years old, and we did not have much time together. As a mother, I am very heartbroken, it is a big lesson for me. I ask the jury to give him a lenient sentence so that he can integrate into the community. My family promises that after my child finishes serving his sentence, we will be closer to him, not letting him go out into society and be lured by his friends. I have also discussed with my ex-husband how to guide him to a new career and future after this stumble.”

A.'s grandfather also presented his difficult situation. After his parents divorced, A. went to live with his grandparents. Although his grandparents tried to care for him, the generation gap made it difficult for their thoughts to connect. What children need is the love of their parents, the attention and education of the school, but he did not have it because he dropped out of school, his parents went their separate ways, and did not care much.

During the trial, the jury repeatedly mentioned the role of the family and the education of parents in raising their children. The family plays an important role in educating and shaping the personality of children. If each family builds a good foundation for their children, these tragedies will be limited.

Once every house truly becomes a home, where every child receives enough love and care both mentally and physically, society will have more good citizens and vice versa. The case is also a lesson for other parents in raising children, especially in today's society with many temptations.

At the end of the case, the court sentenced the defendants Nguyen Dinh Binh A. to 5 years and 6 months in prison, Dinh Xuan D. to 4 years in prison, and Hoang Duy H. to 3 years and 6 months in prison for the crime of “Murder”. Regarding the civil part, because the defendants had reached an agreement with the victim, the court did not consider it.
