(Baonghean.vn) - Tan Ky is encouraging localities to build production models that bring high economic value, including mushroom growing, which is considered a promising profession, both exploiting potential advantages and creating jobs and increasing income for people.

The mushroom production facility in Ky Son commune, Tan Ky district is the first mushroom growing model in the district. With a factory area of 15,000 m2This facility invests in machinery lines in stages of the production chain such as building cold rooms to preserve seeds and mushrooms; investing in installing boilers to dry wood ear and lingzhi mushrooms; building a system of mushroom bag steaming chambers, a system of seed culture rooms with UV lights that meet sterile standards for the best mushroom growth.

Each stage of mushroom production is also divided into separate areas, ensuring proper technical processes; including areas for seed production, packaging, planting and product preservation. Every year, this production facility creates jobs for 15 local workers with an income of 3.5 - 4 million VND/person/month.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy in Hamlet 1 Tan Son, Ky Tan Commune (Tan Ky), who has worked for many years at this unit, said that mushroom farming is not too hard, the monthly salary is about 4 million VND, enough to support herself and her family..

Currently, on average, the facility produces 5,000 - 8,000 bags of mushrooms per day, with 2 - 3 quintals of fresh mushrooms sold to the market, mainly oyster mushrooms.

From the effectiveness of the mushroom growing facility in Ky Son commune, currently in Tan Ky district, there have appeared 2 more mushroom production facilities with quite large scale in Nghia Dong commune and town, creating jobs for many rural workers. Some households in localities in the district also invest in mushroom growing on a large scale.

Particularly in the mountainous commune of Giai Xuan, after participating in a mushroom growing training course, women have formed a mushroom growing cooperative, which has initially shown effectiveness. Women join together to contribute capital to grow mushrooms, from purchasing mushroom spawn to caring for, harvesting and selling; on average, each person earns about 5 million VND/month.

Developing mushroom cultivation has many benefits, such as taking advantage of agricultural by-products such as straw, sawdust, bean stalks, sugarcane bagasse... Photo: Nhu Lanh

Mr. Dang Ngoc Than - Head of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Tan Ky district said: "We have directed the Center for Vocational Education and Continuing Education to open a number of mushroom growing training classes and provide labor for mushroom growing facilities in the area. This is a very good model, increasing income, eliminating hunger and reducing poverty; in the coming time, we will advise the district to continue opening mushroom growing classes to promote the effectiveness of the model".

Tan Ky is a mountainous district, with nearly 80% of the labor force engaged in agricultural production. Therefore, developing mushroom cultivation has many benefits, which is to take advantage of agricultural by-products such as straw, sawdust, bean stalks, bagasse, etc. Mushroom cultivation requires a low initial investment, depending on the scale of production; capital turnover is fast due to the short production cycle, harvesting after more than 1 month from the date of planting and the harvesting period lasts for 2 months, so the income is spread out. Therefore, mushroom cultivation is currently very promising in the area.
