Nghe An solemnly celebrates the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day
On the morning of February 24, in Vinh City, Nghe An Department of Health solemnly held the 70th Anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2025) and received State honorary titles, emulation titles and forms of commendation.

Leaders of Nghe An province included comrades: Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation and comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of departments, branches and localities attending the ceremony.
The leaders of Nghe An Department of Health include comrade Le Thi Hoai Chung - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Director of the Department of Health; along with comrades in the Board of Directors, representatives of agencies, units, and medical facilities throughout the sector through the periods.

Continue to build Nghe An's health sector stronger and stronger, meeting the needs of protecting, caring for and improving people's health.
70 years ago, on February 27, 1955, on the occasion of the Health Workers' Conference, President Ho Chi Minh sent a letter to all cadres and employees in the sector; in which Uncle Ho advised: "Doctors must love the sick; the sick entrust their lives to you; the Government entrusts you to treat illnesses and maintain the health of our people. That is a very glorious task".

Imbued with and implementing Uncle Ho's teachings, over the past 70 years, along with the whole country, generations of doctors in Nghe An province have always considered this a noble motto of action, a political responsibility towards the people, determined to unite, strive to overcome many difficulties, including hardships, inherit and promote the fine traditions of the medical sector.
The speech at the Celebration Ceremony presented by Comrade Le Thi Hoai Chung - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Director of the Department of Health reviewed the formation and development of Nghe An's health sector since its establishment on March 23, 1946.

After 79 years of formation and development, Nghe An is now one of the localities with strong medical development and is gradually becoming a medical center of the North Central region according to the orientation in Resolution No. 39-NQ/TW dated July 18, 2025 of the Politburo on building and developing Nghe An province to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
By the end of 2024, the whole province will have 3 state management agencies, 46 health service units, and 460 commune-level health stations.
The non-public health system has 18 general and specialized hospitals, 37 general clinics, 665 specialized clinics, medical services and 3,160 pharmaceutical practice establishments. In addition, the province also has 4 medical units under ministries, branches and universities.
The entire public and non-public health system of the province has 20,386 medical staff, reaching 12.9 doctors per 10,000 people.

On behalf of the leaders of the provincial health sector, comrade Le Thi Hoai Chung called on all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the whole sector to continue promoting the fine tradition of the sector "Solidarity, discipline, setting an example, responsibility, professionalism and efficiency" determined to complete the goals and targets of 2025 and the following years.
“Every medical staff member should always be a shining example of striving to improve their expertise and professional ethics, considering the pain of patients as their own, as Uncle Ho taught: “A good doctor must be like a mother”; continue to build Nghe An’s health sector to become stronger and stronger, meeting the needs of protecting, caring for and improving people’s health, worthy of the trust and love of the Party, State and People”, said the Director of Nghe An Department of Health.
Strive and strive to be worthy of "the noble profession of medicine"
Speaking at the Ceremony, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Comrade Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee respectfully congratulated, commended and acknowledged the efforts of all leaders, officers and employees of the provincial health sector that have been achieved in the past time.

In the coming time, to successfully carry out the task of protecting, caring for, and improving people's health, contributing to socio-economic development, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the provincial health sector to continue modernizing healthcare, promoting digital transformation, expanding the application of electronic medical records and artificial intelligence in diagnosis and treatment.
At the same time, promote the development of technical expertise in medical examination and treatment, improve the quality of medical examination and treatment. Persistently implementing the goal of preventive medicine is the key, primary health care is the foundation; strongly develop primary health care, ensure that all people, whether in urban or rural areas, have access to quality medical services.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the provincial health sector to continue to strengthen international cooperation, train a team of highly qualified doctors and nurses, and be ready to access advanced techniques; promote scientific research, apply new technologies, develop personalized medicine and regenerative medicine to improve treatment effectiveness.
At the same time, continue to arrange and perfect the industry's organizational structure towards streamlining, effective and efficient operations in accordance with the direction of the Central and provincial governments.
Comrade Bui Dinh Long also suggested that the sector proactively advise the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee to continue investing in facilities and equipment for the health sector and issue specific mechanisms and policies to motivate and encourage staff in the sector, especially staff working in the fields of preventive medicine and grassroots health care.

In his speech, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also expressed his hope and belief that each cadre of the provincial health sector will always be a shining example of striving to improve their professional skills and ethics; not only to help people maintain and improve their health and overcome diseases, but also to leave in the hearts of the people warm feelings, unforgettable memories, and beautiful thoughts about humanity and human ethics.
“So that everywhere, every time we hear the names of doctors, pharmacists, and physicians, and see the white blouse, we see the embodiment of knowledge, honor, and personality like the spirit of the Hippocratic oath, like the words of the famous physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong, “the medical profession is noble,” Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Bui Dinh Long advised. “A physician must cultivate himself with eight words to admonish himself: Humanity – Wisdom – Virtue – Intelligence – Capacity – Sincerity – Modesty – Diligence,” as beloved Uncle Ho said: “A good physician must be like a mother.”
Comrade Bui Dinh Long also requested that Party committees, authorities, political organizations, social and religious organizations and all people support and join hands to help the health sector complete its glorious and extremely difficult mission.
