| "For a long time, through the news, I have seen many ditches and beaches flooded with plastic bags. Each time I go to the market, I roughly calculate that a person must use at least 5 plastic bags. With such usage, on average, a person uses about 150 bags/month, up to 4,500 bags/year. These numbers make many people startled," Ms. Lien shared. Therefore, when the Ben Thuy Ward Women's Union chose it as the location to implement the plan "Using plastic baskets and boxes instead of plastic bags", many women in the block enthusiastically responded. In fact, because of convenience, many people still use plastic bags even though they have been given baskets and plastic boxes. However, I believe that this habit can change and in the near future, the model will be replicated in many other blocks of Ben Thuy ward," Ms. Tuyet added.
