Phuong My Chi and Ho Van Cuong compete for the 'Golden Apricot 2016' award

Two young singers are nominated for "Singers of folk and revolutionary traditional music".

From the voting results and consultation with the Arts Council, the award organizing committee announced the list of nominees for 14 categories.There are categories that do not have enough candidates for the top 5.

In the "Singer of folk and revolutionary traditional music" category, there were only four candidates: Phuong My Chi, Ho Van Cuong, Nguyen Thien Nhan, Trinh Nhat Minh. In the "Song" category, there were only two votes: My kind mother (Minh Vy) and Dream (Vu Cat Tuong).

Phuong My Chi grew up from the first season of "The Voice Kids", is a familiar face at the Mai Vang Awards with a double award in 2013 and many nominations. In 2016, My Chi released the MV "Cho Nguoi" which received much attention from the audience. Meanwhile, Ho Van Cuong, Thien Nhan, Trinh Nhat Minh are champions of music competitions for child singers loved by the audience.

This year, Truong Giang leads the nominations when he is present in4 categories include: Stage Actor, Comedian, Film - TV Actor and MC. Tran Thanh is close with threesimilar nominations, except for Stage Actor. Next are artists with two nominations such as: Isaac, Ngo Kien Huy, Vu Cat Tuong...

The award voting round starts from December 15th to January 15th, 2017. The award ceremony will take place on the evening of January 20th, 2017 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mai Vang is an annual award recognizing artists with outstanding activities during the year.
