The West explains Trump's sudden change in stance on Ukraine
Some Western media said that Russia's successes on the front threatened US economic interests, so Washington changed its stance on providing weapons to Ukraine.

According to RIA Novosti on July 9, the Berliner Zeitung (Germany) explained that US President Donald Trump's sudden change in providing weapons to Ukraine was related to the threat to US economic interests due to Russia's successes on the front.
“Trump’s latest statements may not be seen as a fundamental change in his policy towards Ukraine, but as a reaction to current military and political events. Russia’s advance along a frontline of more than 1,200 km is forcing the US to once again strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses. If the Kremlin seizes more mines in Donbass with significant lithium reserves, this will also be a bitter loss for US economic interests,” the article said.
Berliner Zeitung also mentioned that the Kiev authorities are desperately asking for the supplies to be accelerated and expanded. According to the source, it is difficult to say whether these deliveries will be made.
“The main question remains whether the promised arms supplies will actually reach Ukraine, or whether this is just a temporary move in an unpredictable game of power,” the newspaper said.
Earlier, according to CNN citing reliable sources, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth did not inform the Trump administration in advance about the decision to suspend arms supplies to Ukraine. In addition, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US President's special envoy Keith Kellogg were also not informed in advance about the suspension and only learned about this information through the media.
On Russia's side, the Kremlin said it would take time to clarify what types of weapons the US is and will provide to Ukraine, after President Donald Trump announced sending more weapons to Kiev.
