Rambutan is also a valuable medicine.
Rambutan is a very familiar fruit to Vietnamese people. In addition to its delicious taste and high nutritional value due to its high vitamin C content, protein, fat and trace elements such as copper, manganese, potassium, calcium, iron, phosphorus..., rambutan is also used as a medicine to treat many diseases.
Green rambutan fruit and peel: Because it contains a lot of tannin, it is used to treat diseases:
Fever reduction: Take 15g of rambutan peel, wash, boil and drink several times a day.
Treatment of diarrhea: dose 20 - 30g/day.
Cure dysentery: 20-40g green fruit or fruit peel, decoct and drink.

Rambutan seeds:Sweet taste, warm properties, contains many unsaturated fats such as olein, arachidin..., has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects, used to treat diseases:
Diabetes: Use 5 roasted rambutan seeds, crush into powder, add boiling water and drink 1 to 2 times a day.
Weight loss: eat rambutan seeds raw or roast them and mix with other foods.
Roundworm removal: 40g of fruit peel or seeds, decocted and drunk.
Malaria: 40g decoction of seeds.
Treating thrush: Chew the green fruit peel and seeds and rinse your mouth. Or crush the peel and seeds and apply the juice to your tongue.
Rambutan smoothie cures diarrhea, indigestion, improves health, can reduce fever: 1 small bowl of seedless rambutan, 1/2 small bowl of syrup, 1.5 small bowls of boiling water, 1 small bowl of shaved ice, 1/3 teaspoon of salt. Put rambutan and water in a blender, then add syrup and salt and blend at low speed for 1 minute. Pour into a glass, top with shaved ice, garnish with a sprig of mint and enjoy.
Or 1 small bowl of chopped rambutan, 1.5 tablespoons of sugar, 1/8 teaspoon of salt, 1.5 small bowls of cooled boiled water, 1 1/2 small bowls of ice cubes. Put rambutan and water in a pot, cook over medium heat, add sugar, salt, stir until boiling, turn off the heat and let cool. Pour into a glass with ice cubes to drink immediately or put in a jar to chill and drink gradually. You can add a little boiled rambutan to the glass and decorate with a sprig of mint.
Rambutan leaves: Young leaves are cooked in sour soup with water spinach, eaten to have the same cooling effect as other sour soups. The onions have 4-5 yellow scales arranged in a large bunch near the big toe because they taste very sour and cannot be eaten.
Note: Children and the elderly should remove the seeds when eating rambutan to avoid choking.
- Eating too many rambutan seeds can cause feeling drunk, nauseous, and full.
