Syrian army recaptured 40 oil drilling towers in July
During the offensive towards Raqqah, the Syrian army regained control of about 40 oil drilling towers in the province of the same name.

"Since the beginning of June, the Syrian government has recaptured more than 40 oil drilling towers that were destroyed by IS militants before their withdrawal," - oil engineer Ali Ibrahim, who took responsibility for restoring oil exploitation in Raqqah, told reporters.
He stressed that when withdrawing from the city, the rebels blew up most of the oil drilling towers, leaving the rest badly damaged.
Mr. Ibrahim stressed that since the beginning of July, during the Syrian army's offensive, IS militants have been pushed back from the province's oil-producing areas.
Damascus has regained control of oil areas such as: Dabsan, Dailaa, al-Ramilan, Tbisan, Al-Saura and Vahab.
