Military Region 4 trains and fosters hundreds of military officers from Laos

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 21, in Xieng Khouang province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, the 4th Military Region Command with Division 4, Division 1 and the Military Command of Vientiane, Xay Xom Bun provinces and the Military Commands of Lao provinces sharing borders with the Military Region held the 2016 joint conference.

Major General Dang Trong Quan - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of Military Region 4 and Colonel, Kham-Nho Lin-Xom-Phu, Division Commander of Division 4, Lao Ministry of National Defense signed the minutes of the 2016 Joint Conference.

In 2015, the Military Region 4 Command directed the units of the Military Region to proactively do a good job of advising 35/35 Lao village clusters to have party cells; train 350 Lao military officers at all levels; help units and localities build barracks, welfare facilities, support technical equipment and supplies, build production models... with a total value of over 14 billion VND.

The Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of Laos' localities enthusiastically helped the Military Region's martyrs' grave collection force to search for and exhume 167 martyrs' remains and organize a ceremony to send the martyrs' remains back to Vietnam.

At the conference, the two sides signed the minutes of the joint conference, agreeing to cooperate, coordinate to closely grasp and manage the local situation, promptly inform each other about the situation related to the plots and sabotage tricks of hostile forces. Military Region 4 will assist Lao Army units with some contents on military building and building stable and developed village clusters.

The two sides continued to cooperate in implementing the project of increasing the density and embellishing the system of national border markers as planned; closely coordinated in searching, excavating and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos during the war and brought them back to Vietnam in the dry season of 2016-2017.
