Military Region 4: Building over 472 safe clusters, ready for combat
(Baonghean.vn) - On December 23, the Military Region 4 Command held a conference to summarize 25 years of building strong and comprehensive grassroots, communes, wards, and towns, safe and mastered clusters (ATLC), and combat readiness (SSCD), the period 1990 - 2015.
The conference was chaired by Major General Nguyen Tan Cuong, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of the Military Region, Lieutenant General Vo Van Viet, Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the Military Region. Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee attended and spoke at the conference.

Over the past 25 years, Military Region 4 and the provinces in the area have persistently and effectively implemented the policy of building a comprehensively strong base, a security and defense cluster, creating consensus and unanimity at all levels, sectors, cadres, party members, people of all walks of life and armed forces.

Up to now, in the Military Region, over 472 inter-commune, ward and town security clusters have been built; 24 inter-district clusters have operated effectively. In 2014, the rate of security and combat clusters was quite good at 98.7%, an increase of 41% compared to 1998. The above results have contributed to building "the people's hearts and minds", the all-people National Defense posture associated with the People's Security posture increasingly solid; the goal of "peace for the people, stability for development" is increasingly affirmed.
