(Baonghean.vn) - Dedicating his entire life to the cause of national unification and independence, although always deeply missing his homeland, Uncle Ho only had time to visit his homeland Nghe An twice, in 1957 and 1961. In the hearts of Nghe An people today, every image and every word of Uncle Ho's advice during those two "highly meaningful" trips back to his homeland are forever engraved.

On June 14, 1957, Uncle Ho visited his hometown Nghe An for the first time. During this visit, he returned to Sen Village (Kim Lien, Nam Dan) - the place that holds many of his childhood memories. He was moved to say: "The homeland is full of love and affection/ Those fifty years were filled with so much love." Photo: Nghe An Museum. |

Uncle Ho spoke to cadres, soldiers and people of Nghe An at the Nghe An provincial hall during his first visit to his hometown in 1957. Here, he reminded that the province must be "diligent, thrifty, honest and upright", compete to increase production and practice thrift; and must unite more closely. Photo: Nghe An Museum Document. |

During his second visit to his hometown in December 1961, Uncle Ho visited the Vinh Thanh High-class Cooperative (Yen Thanh) - the leading tree planting movement in the North. While Uncle Ho was talking to the cadres and people, the sun was rising. A commune cadre went down to a local's house to borrow an umbrella to cover Uncle Ho. As soon as he raised the umbrella, Uncle Ho pushed it away and said: "I am not feudal". He pointed down at the sea of people below, also standing in the sun. Everyone was moved by his behavior. The memorial area is a place to record Uncle Ho's images, an educational destination for the younger generation to study and follow the moral example and style of Ho Chi Minh. Photo: Thanh Cuong |
