Quy Hop: Inter-commune road 'shredded' by trucks

(Baonghean.vn) -The inter-commune road passing through Chau Quang commune, Quy Hop district (Nghe An) has recently been seriously degraded, causing many difficulties for people in traveling.

This inter-commune road was the first concreted road of Chau Quang commune, located on the road connecting National Highway 48C with Diem Bay and Dong Lum hamlets, with a total length of nearly 2km.

However, the road is now seriously degraded, full of potholes. The concrete surface is cracked and broken, making it difficult for people to pass through. In many places, the road surface has sunk, and when it rains, the water cannot drain, turning into a muddy "pond".

Locals said that the already severely cracked concrete road surface now has to bear the traffic of heavy trucks, continuously transporting sand and gravel to serve a number of projects in Chau Quang commune, causing the road to become more and more severely damaged.

Mr. Vi Van Hai in Chau Cuong commune said: "Every time I pass here, I have to be very careful. Because there have been many accidents on this road, due to going into cracks in the concrete or hitting pieces of concrete that have popped out. Many rainy days, the road is so bad that it is difficult to travel, so I have to go around to another road that is longer."

In particular, vehicles such as motorbikes and bicycles are often damaged due to the bad road. Temporarily, people fix it by dumping rocks and filling in low-lying areas, but after only a few days, the rocks and soil continue to be pushed away due to the weight of vehicles carrying construction materials. The deterioration of the road has significantly affected the travel of people in the area.

According to Mr. Tran Van Tuan - Chairman of Chau Quang Commune People's Committee, the above inter-commune road has been degraded for many years, and recently, hundreds of trucks carrying construction materials have been destroying the road every day to serve a nearby project. In response to people's complaints, Chau Quang Commune has also sent many official dispatches to the district requesting the repair and upgrading of the road...
