Quy Hop builds orange brand that meets European standards

(Baonghean.vn) - Quy Hop District (Nghe An) has just issued a Resolution on developing orange growing areas towards commodity production in the 2016-2020 period and the following years with 2,410 hectares of oranges. Accordingly, building the Quy Hop orange brand is separate from the Vinh orange brand.

Quy Hop currently has about 1,945.5 hectares of citrus trees, of which oranges account for 1,520 hectares, an increase of 252% compared to 2011, fruit yield increased by 10-15%, output increased by 60%, creating a growth step in the transformation of crop structure in the area. The district has built concentrated orange areas with Xa Doai and Valencia varieties, giving high yield, suitable for soil and climate conditions. The value of 1 hectare of oranges reaches over 300 million VND/ha.

The district aims to successfully build the Quy Hop orange brand, separate from the Vinh orange brand, and at the same time attract businesses to invest in some orange production areas according to VietGAP, Euro Gap standards... to inspect quality and label products to bring orange products to meet export standards for consumption in Europe.
