Quynh Luu: Support to build solidarity houses for poor households
(Baonghean.vn) - On August 31, 2 families in Quynh Luu district were given support money to build solidarity houses and handed over the solidarity houses.
Morning of August 31,Quynh Luu District Fatherland Front Committee, Quynh Luu District War Veterans in coordination with Quynh Hau CommuneOrganized a fund-raising ceremony to support the building of a solidarity house for veteran Le Minh Chau, a poor household in difficult circumstances.

Mr. Le Minh Chau is a member of the War Veterans Association in Hamlet 8, Quynh Hau Commune. He joined the army in 1970 in the Lao battlefield. In 1977, he was discharged and returned to his hometown. His main income came from a few fields of rice to raise four children, so life was difficult. In 2014, Mr. Chau's wife passed away from bone cancer. He himself was sick and needed medicine regularly. Mr. Le Minh Chau's old house was seriously degraded but he did not have the means to rebuild or repair it.
The construction of Mr. Le Minh Chau's 3-room house started in June 2017 and has now been basically completed. To cover the construction costs, the Fatherland Front and the War Veterans Association of the district gave his family 20 million VND from the Great Unity House Support Fund of the district, and the Fatherland Front and the War Veterans Association of Quynh Hau commune gave 12.6 million VND. The total support amount is 32.6 million VND. On this occasion, the district and commune mass organizations presented gifts to Mr. Le Minh Chau to help him ease his difficulties./.

With the help of relatives, neighbors and local authorities, the 2-room tiled-roof house of Mrs. Pham Thi Thin's family was built with a total cost of more than 50 million VND. Of which, the Fatherland Front Committee of Quynh Luu district supported her family with 20 million VND, the rest was supported by relatives and the working days of the villagers./.
