Quynh Luu hits big with fresh squid for export

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 29, at Lach Quen fishing port, Tien Thuy commune, Quynh Luu district, many fishing boats of fishermen from Tien Thuy, Quynh Nghia, Quynh Long communes... docked carrying dozens of tons of seafood, especially fishermen caught a lot of fresh squid for export with high economic value.

After 3-5 days at sea, many large-capacity fishing boats of fishermen in Quynh Luu district have caught 15-20 tons of seafood, mainly squid and cuttlefish. Some boats have caught 600 kg of fresh squid in one night, selling at the wharf for 70,000 VND to 220,000 VND/kg depending on the type.

Fresh squid is a type of seafood that is not only popular in the domestic market but is also a product chosen for export to China and Southeast Asia. Traders from all over flock to buy frozen squid as a valuable export item.

Ms. Bui Thi Khuong, a buyer at Lach Quen port, shared, "This is the first time I've seen fishermen catch so much squid, all kinds of squid, many different sizes."

Many boats, after selling all their products, refueled, prepared fishing gear, ice and food to continue going out to sea./.
