Sweet tangerines harvested during Tet bring high income

This year, Mr. Tran Ngoc Dung's family in Hong Phu hamlet, Nghia Hong commune (Nghia Dan) harvested the second tangerine crop. Over 10 sao of land planted 300 PQ tangerine trees, harvested over 10 tons, with tangerine prices fluctuating at the garden from 10,000 - 20,000 VND/kg, after deducting expenses, the family earned a profit of 400 - 500 million VND.

With the profits that tangerine trees bring in the New Year, the Farmers' Association of Nghia Hong commune has organized for its members to study and replicate the model. Currently, the whole commune has over 23 hectares of tangerine trees, many gardeners have been proactive in growing safe tangerines, this is a strong point to create stable product output.

Tangerines are harvested during Tet and are easy to consume.

Mr. Vo Van Tri - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Nghia Hong Commune, Nghia Dan said: "The Farmers' Association of the commune has deployed for members to develop citrus trees such as oranges, grapefruits and tangerines, especially applying scientific and technological advances to grow safe fruits. We also actively promote the brand and image on social networking sites so that more people know about tangerine trees, and work with farmers to develop the economy and get rich legitimately on their own land...".

PQ tangerines not only have a good price during Tet but also have the advantage of being able to be harvested until January, serving the full moon and the market demand at the beginning of the year.
