Real continues to win big with new coach Zidane

Former player Zidane once again showed his cool hand when leading Real to defeat Sporting Gijon with a score of 5-1 in round 20 of Liga.

After a 5-0 win over Deportivo on his debut, coach Zinedine Zidane needed just a week to add another five-goal win. Real even scored four goals in the first 18 minutes, before finishing the first half 5-0. Sporting Gijon only managed a consolation goal in the 62nd minute, when the home team took the initiative to reduce the pressure.

With Zidane's second consecutive win, Real have 43 points from 20 games and have jumped to second place in the La Liga table. The Whites could lose this position if Barca beat Bilbao in a match that kicks off a few hours later.

Similar to the win over Deportivo last weekend, Zidane arranged the trio of Bale, Benzema, and Ronaldo to play right in front of attacking midfielder Isco. In the midfield, the Modric - Kroos duo took turns providing the ball. This arrangement once again proved effective and brought an easy victory for Real. In the first 18 minutes of the match, the home team almost exclusively played in the opponent's half, while creating a series of opportunities in front of goalkeeper Ivan Cuellar's goal. After a good game without scoring a goal last weekend, CR7 scored his first goals for new coach Zidane. Like Ronaldo and Bale, Benzema played with particular excitement under Zidane's guidance.
