According to The Sun, the abandoned house next to Rooney's £5 million mansion in Prestbury, Cheshire, has a new owner after Man City midfielder Yaya Toure rented it. The £4 million mansion is located right next to the Shrek family home and the two stars of the two rival teams will be next door to each other.

Rooney and Toure are two of the highest paid players in the Premier League with combined weekly wages of nearly £500,000.

The Manchester United striker and his wife Coleen and their three sons live in a £5 million mansion that was rebuilt in 2005. When building the house, the Shrek couple faced opposition from many neighbours who said the couple had ruined the landscape and peace of the neighbourhood. Cheshire is also home to many football stars.

Today, February 6, Man City will meet the top team, Leicester City, who are 3 points ahead of them. Meanwhile, MU will travel to London to visit Chelsea the following day.
