(Baonghean.vn) - Mr. Nguyen The Giap - Vice Chairman of Thanh Huong Commune (Thanh Chuong) said that a tragic drowning incident had just occurred in the area, causing the death of two children.

The heartbreaking incident occurred at 3:00 p.m. on October 14 in Hamlet 3, Thanh Huong Commune. The victims were Nguyen Viet Huy (5 years old) and Nguyen Viet Thong (4 years old), both living in Hamlet 3.

According to Mr. Giap, on the afternoon of October 14, two children went out to a field 100 meters from their house to play and while playing in the water in the field, they drowned.

When the family did not see the children, they rushed to look for them. It took them an hour to find them floating in the rice field, where the water was nearly 1 meter deep. After pulling them to shore, everyone performed first aid on the spot but they had died. Huy and Thong were cousins.

It is known that the fields after the flood in Thanh Huong are still flooded, so the risk of drowning always lurks for children./.
