Clean agricultural products in Anh Son have a place in the market.
(Baonghean) - To increase the value of agricultural production, Anh Son district focuses on encouraging businesses and people to invest in production models using VietGAP technology.
Clean production practices
Up to this point, the melon growing model of Mr. Truong Vu Hoang - Village 2, Hoi Son Commune (Anh Son) has just completed the harvest season, preparing for the new season. The model has been invested over 1.4 billion VND with a net house system, drip irrigation equipment using modern Israeli technology. The automatic water tank system takes water from underground wells to the synchronous drip system. This is the second year the model has officially exported products to the market.

Mr. Truong Vu Hoang said: We are growing the Ab Sweet Gold melon variety, which is a hybrid of the exclusive Khang Nguyen Agrobiology melon variety. From planting to harvest, it takes about 60 - 65 days. The fruit ripens with beautiful mesh patterns, rich sweetness, orange-yellow flesh, each fruit weighs from 1.4 - 1.8 kg. Because it is grown using clean technology, the product output is very favorable.
Talking to us, Mr. Nguyen Huu Dung - Chairman of Hoi Son Commune People's Committee, said that the above production model was built with copyrighted brand, signed contracts to supply products to businesses nationwide such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh.

The model of “Supporting the model of tea production and processing according to VietGap in Anh Son district”, supported by the Department of Science and Technology from 10 hectares of tea planted experimentally according to clean processes in Khe Giat, Con Tit, now has over 300 hectares of tea produced according to VietGAP in Hung Son commune with a large consumption market. The model contributes to improving the current situation of unstable prices, poor consumption, and drought affecting the productivity and sustainable development of tea trees.
From there, contributing to improve the competitiveness of industrial tea plants in the area. To produce tea according to VietGAP, the seedlings must be disease-free and cared for according to the prescribed technical process.
According to Mr. Vo Van Hien - Secretary of Hung Son Commune Party Committee, a family with 5 sao of tea, 1 harvest has 2 tons of buds. Each year, they harvest at least 6 harvests, 12 tons, with tea price of 3,600 VND/kg, giving an income of about 43 million VND/year. Tea products here have been widely consumed nationwide and exported to some neighboring countries such as China and Thailand.
Currently, the tea processing factory in Hung Son commune is coordinating with local people to expand the tea production area according to VietGAP standards to Duc Son and Cam Son communes, bringing the clean tea area to over 600 hectares.
Replicating the model, increasing production value
Anh Son district has diverse land potential suitable for many types of crops. In recent years, to create momentum in economic development, the district has planned and formed many specialized areas for concentrated and key crops such as sugarcane, tea, corn, rice, and cassava.
However, the value and competitiveness of agricultural products in the market are not high. This reality creates an inevitable need for the birth of agricultural models according to VietGAP technology to create clean and safe agricultural products to meet the needs of increasingly demanding commodity markets. Thanks to the timely attention of all levels and sectors, the boldness and dynamism in thinking and working of the people, up to now the whole district has built production models according to VietGAP such as the clean orange growing model Bai Phu in Dinh Son commune; the tea growing model in Hung Son commune, the net house melon growing model in Hoi Son commune.
Particularly for the disease-free orange model in Bai Phu (Dinh Son), the Provincial Farmers' Association supported over 1 billion VND in investment with a system of drilled wells, electricity, and solid surrounding walls. Or the support mechanism of 200 million VND/drilled well for irrigation for the VietGAP tea model in Hung Son.
To expand and increase the production value of clean agricultural products, in the coming years, Anh Son district plans to complete many high-tech agricultural production models, such as: 300 hectares of clean vegetables in Phuc Son commune; high-tech production model using Israeli technology of Song Lam Sugarcane Joint Stock Company in Dinh Son.

In particular, the Standing Committee of Anh Son District Party Committee has issued a policy allowing the expansion of the scale of growing vegetables in greenhouses using Israeli technology in Hoi Son from 2,000m2up to 7 hectares in the following years.
However, according to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Dang - Head of the District Agriculture Department, developing clean agricultural production models using high technology requires large initial capital; at the same time, the long-term sustainability of the models has not been firmly guaranteed by practical basis. And a "big barrier" is the lack of output contracts for clean agricultural products./.
