Vinh Stadium was 'fire-treated' for 300 million, SLNA borrowed Thanh Hoa Stadium
(Baonghean.vn) - According to information from SLNA Club, during the maintenance period of Vinh Stadium's turf, the Nghe An team will choose Thanh Hoa Stadium as their home field if V.League 2020 is organized to compete again before May.
After VPF sent a dispatch requesting Song Lam Nghe An Club to force the Vinh Stadium Organizing Committee to quickly renovate the Vinh Stadium surface, otherwise the V.League 2020 Organizing Committee will not allow the Nghe An team to play at home but must choose a neutral ground, SLNA Club immediately sent a report to the Department of Culture - Sports of Nghe An, the owner of Vinh Stadium. According to information from Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh - Chairman of SLNA Club, on March 27, the Provincial People's Committee approved the project to renovate the grass surface and lighting system at Vinh Stadium with a budget of up to 24 billion VND.

Regarding the time Vinh Stadium will be fully upgraded, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh said: "SLNA Club cannot say when the stadium will be renovated because we are only the beneficiary. It is not ruled out that the project will start at the end of this year."
Thus, if everything goes according to plan, with an upgrade time of at least 4-5 months, next season SLNA will have a complete field to compete in V.League 2021.
According to Mr. Thanh, the sponsor has just provided the club with 300 million VND for temporary renovations such as sand covering, re-doing the field foundation, and planting new grass using Thai technology. It is expected that these steps will take 30-45 days to complete and during this time, SLNA will choose Thanh Hoa Stadium as their home stadium if V.League 2020 returns before May.
Although they contacted Hong Linh Ha Tinh Club, SLNA Club could not rent Ha Tinh Stadium because the rookie team of V.League 2020 also had to practice at another stadium because the grass of Ha Tinh Stadium was under maintenance. That was the reason why SLNA had to sign a contract to choose Thanh Hoa Stadium as their temporary home stadium.
